We chose to use only organic inputs in our fields, with integrated pest management. The EU organic certification checks this choice every year.

Where we are, and why it matters
Francofonte lies on the south-western side of Etna, in the citrus belt where the gap between day and night temperatures is wider than elsewhere. That difference, together with the sun exposure of the fields, triggers the pigmentation of the blood orange.
That is why the Sicilian blood orange belongs to this land and no other: it is not a figure of speech, it is a climate condition that does not repeat elsewhere.
